I recently chose to move my seat in my lecture class because of a couple of students who sat in front of me. They would constantly talk and make jokes and comments about anything the teacher or another student would say. I found it very distracting. Not only that but some of the comments that they make are borderline inappropriate, at least I think they are.
Since then I have found that the new student (Alicia) that sits in front of me needs help ALL the time. She seems to have a much harder time going through the program than most people. Alicia is a very sweet girl and I really don't have a problem helping her out when she needs it (especially since I used to be one of the students who always asked a ton of questions and needed help a lot). Today, however, Alicia was constantly turning around to ask me a question that was on our final review, which made it so I was unable to do my own work. Without even exaggerating the longest time period she went without asking me a question during class was about five minutes. My lecture class is two hours long too. She doesn't ask me as many questions in our lab class but when she does its always a question that is much more suitable for the teacher. I hate to be the person who moves their seat (again) just because another student asks a lot of questions (which is of course a good thing to do). I'm really hoping that it's just a phase but if it does continue a whole lot....sorry Alicia.....i gotta move.
